🎉 Welcome to Your Big Book of AI Prompts

This is your personal prompt library. Every prompt in this book has been tested and designed specifically for children aged 7–15. They are organised into sections so you can find exactly what you need quickly.

How to use them: copy the prompt into Claude or ChatGPT exactly, then change the words in [SQUARE BRACKETS] to make them personal. The more you personalise, the better the result.

📚 Study & Homework Help Prompts

These prompts help you UNDERSTAND things — not do your homework for you. Always use these to learn, then write your answers in your own words.

HH1 · EXPLAIN IT
Explain [TOPIC — e.g. photosynthesis, the water cycle, fractions, World War 2] to me as if I am [YOUR AGE] years old. Use a simple analogy or comparison I can relate to. Then give me three examples from everyday life. Use plain English throughout.
HH2 · QUIZ ME
I have just read about [TOPIC]. Give me 10 quiz questions to test my understanding. Mix easy, medium and hard questions. After I answer each one, tell me if I am right and give a brief explanation. Do not give me the answers first — ask the questions one at a time and wait for my response.
HH3 · SUMMARISE
Summarise the key points about [TOPIC] in bullet points. Use simple language. Then give me one interesting fact about the topic that most people do not know. Keep it under 200 words.
HH4 · PLAN MY ESSAY
I need to write an essay about [TOPIC]. Help me plan it — not write it. Give me: a suggested title, three main points to cover, what evidence or examples to use for each point, and a possible conclusion. I will write the essay myself using your plan.
HH5 · HARD WORD
I came across this word or phrase in my reading: [WORD OR PHRASE]. Explain what it means in simple language. Show me how it is used in two different sentences. Tell me one way I can remember its meaning.

🤔 Fun & Curiosity Prompts

Use these when you want to explore something curious, interesting, or surprising about the world.

FP1 · SURPRISING FACTS
Tell me 5 surprising facts about [TOPIC — e.g. dolphins, the Roman Empire, space, chocolate, the human body]. Make them the kind of facts that would make someone say 'No way — really?!' Use simple language and explain why each fact is surprising or unusual.
FP2 · WEIRD SCIENCE
Explain the science behind [SOMETHING THAT SEEMS MAGICAL — e.g. how rainbows form, why we dream, how planes stay in the air, why the sky is blue]. Use an analogy a 10-year-old would understand. Make it feel amazing, not boring.
FP3 · WHAT IF
Answer this 'What if?' question: What if [YOUR IDEA — e.g. humans could breathe underwater, gravity was half as strong, everyone could hear other people's thoughts]? Explore the consequences imaginatively but also scientifically where you can. Keep it fun and include both good things and unexpected problems.
FP4 · COMPARE
Compare [THING 1] and [THING 2] for me. Tell me: what do they have in common? What is the most interesting difference? Which one do you find more fascinating and why? Use examples to explain everything.
FP5 · MAKE ME LAUGH
Tell me three genuinely funny and completely true facts about [TOPIC]. They should be the kind of facts that make you laugh because they sound too strange to be real — but they are.
